THE
INTUITIVE PERSONALITY
Where
does intuition come from?
Intuition
has no limitations. The reservoir of truth that makes
up the psychic realm is only limited by human failure
to accurately receive or understand it. Truth is truth.
Fact is fact. It is only the distortions and misunderstandings
of our human perception that keep us from fully understanding
and using this truth.
You
do not have to be emotionally involved in order to access
psychic truth about events and circumstances. Suppose,
for instance that you are sitting at home in your livingroom,
in a relaxed frame of mind. You look out your living
room window and see an older woman walking along the
sidewalk. In the opposite direction you see a young
man walking toward her. You get a sudden tingling
sensation that the young man is going to steal
that little old lady's purse! And, sure enough, the
young man walks up to the little old lady, snatches
her purse, and runs in the opposite direction.
Why
-- within seconds -- do some people have intuitive sensations
and psychic flashes about dangerous situations? Perhaps
it was necessary to receive the information for the
purpose of rescuing the woman from physical harm. Or,
perhaps to be a witness who can describe the thief to
the police.
Our
thoughts are vibrations -- frequencies. Those who are
sensitive, whether consciously or subconsciously --
whether practiced or through natural power, are open
to receive information just as a radio tower picks up
radio waves that come near it.
Some
people simply detect or sense what they personally
fear -- it's a naturally intuitive defense. It may
be fear of their parents dying, or losing their jobs
or facing some other crisis.
Other
psychics are able to sense things that extend far beyond
their own lives and involvement. They are so sensitive
or skilled in various psychic areas that they receive
vibes of whatever is in the air -- and in doing so,
can benefit and provide informative aspects of human
life.
Meditation
is a good first step
Psychologist
Frances Vaughn says that "The regular practice
of meditation is the single most powerful means of increasing
intuition." This is simply an excellent way
to stimulate our intuition. Most anyone who has tried
it will tell you that meditation is an excellent tool
for expanding your consciousness. It just makes sense
-- take 10-20 minutes a day twice a day to escape the
hectic world around you and lounge pleasantly in the
peaceful world of your own subconscious.
During
your meditative session, jot down your impressions about
questions you are concerned with. As your specific questions.
For instance, "I have invested $1,000 in Microsoft
stock. Will this stock go up within a week? Within a
month? How many points? Jot down our answers no matter
how unrelated they might be. Initially, you may not
get help on your Microsoft stock but you may be accumulating
impressions that will teach you to read your responses
better on future concerns.
Another
technique for priming the psyche during your meditative
sessions is to use incomplete sentences. As you meditate,
you think "If I invest $3500 of my savings in EXXON,
the stock will...." Or, you ask yourself, "If
I relocate to Los Angeles, then..." Pay attention
to your thoughts. Write down your first impressions.
Study your answers for correlations, trends and response
characteristics.
You
will be surprised at how fast you will begin to gain
new insights -- insights that have no obvious source
in your mind -- information you never really learned,
but information that makes sense to you just the same.
These are the early rewards that will hook you on the
power of your intuitive mind and will involve you more
and more deeply in the development of your psychic powers.
On
the other hand, some of your mediation answers will
make no sense to you at all. At least, they won't make
sense to you right away. Write them down anyway.
Don't discard them. They are valuable clues that can
help you learn how to read your intuition and
better understand your psychic abilities.
Suppose
I were to hand you a classic book that has been printed
only in a language you never learned to read. You look
at the pages but there is nothing there for you. The
pages may as well be blank. The book may contain great
wisdom but its insights are only for those who have
learned to read its language. In the same way, your
mind is a conduit to an unlimited world of wisdom and
insight -- but these treasures are only available to
you when you have learned to read the language and receive
the communications of your mind.

It's
like learning anything else.
You
develop your intuition the same way you develop your
other skills. You try. You document your trials. You
take encouragement from your successes. You learn from
your failures. You build...you grow...you move forward
gradually.
The
next time you are faced with a decision, whether it's
promoting an executive or investing thousands in the
stock market -- take all the facts into account and
open yourself up to the intuitive part of your mind
and see what other information comes to you.
You
might have a strong sense that the person you jut met
will have a positive influence in your life. You might
have a hunch that you should wait a week before investing
in a particular stock, or purchasing real estate, or
starting with a particular company. Document your
feelings, play them out and honestly evaluate
your successes and failures. You'll be amazed at how
fast your natural intuitive powers grow.
Whether
or not a prediction deserves to be called intuitive,
hinges on its degree of precision and clarity and detail.
The predictive function can be either explicit
or implicit.
A
friend of mine followed up her urge to send a book outline
to a particular agent. She had no idea why -- just an
urge. But her intuition must have had some
implicit prophetic quality mixed in. The intuition
would have been more predictive (than operative) if
she had a strong feeling that specifically something
good would come from that particular agent or details
that the agent would offer a specific contract to publish
her book or buy the rights for $5000.
