"The Force is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds
us, it penetrates us, it binds galaxies together...the way we connect with The Force is to "follow our feelings."
--Obi Wan Kenobi

What is psychic ability anyway?

Let's first start with intuition. Intuition is a much bigger part ofour lives than we realize. And more importantly for our time here today, your intuition is a potential dynamo which can be tapped to enable you to accomplish far more than you thought possible.

If you had a warm feeling for the featured film directed by George Lucas, Star Wars, you probably have an open and fertile mind for tapping the powre that lies within you. Remember the line from Star Wars? "Let the force be with you." Well, I'm here to tell you that the force is more than a Hollywood screen writer's idea. Your intiution is real and powerful and waiting for you to make good use of it.

In our language, we refer to our psychic processes many times when we don't even realize it. We talk about a woman's intuition. We explain the unexplainable attitude by saying "I've just got a hunch..." or we say "I don't know what it is but I have a feeling about this situation."

We are expressing the not-so-unusual fact that somehow we have gotten more information than what we read or were told. We have somehow absorbed...from the situation or the people involved... some compelling perceptions.. some not-to-be denied opinions.. that demand to be heard and considered .

Is intuition a vague, hazy sensation? Or is it a bolt out of the blue? Is it a gutwrenching feeling... or a subtle hunch? The answer is yes. Intuition is all of these things.

The experience of intuition is private. It cannot be explained in a single or a simple definition. Like love, it's an unexplainable feeling that everybody understands. As we often hear about love... "I don't know how to describe it but, when it hits you... you know it!"

Intuition is the voice of non-physical reality. The soul is non-physical reality that as far as we can tell tell has no weight and occupies no space. And yet it is as real as our physical body. In the same way, intuition is a non-physical reality... it is the essence of your being.

Author Gary Zukav helps a little in his book, Seat of the Soul. He explains intuition as the "walkie-talkie" between your personality and your soul. Make sense? The "walkie-talkie" between your personality and your soul.

Your personality communicates with your soul through an intuitive dialogue. In other words, it is your intuition that enables you to tune in and experience information on a conscious level -- to potentially experience all the information that your soul has access to.

Research has shown that we use only 10 percent of our brains in daily living. Psychic proficiency can be compared to musical ability, athletic prowess, or the capacity to understand complex mathematical equations. While everyone can sing in the shower, only a small percentage of us can sing well enough to make music our sole profession.

The difference between you and I...

You and I are psychics. I'm a professional at it and in all probability, you still have your psychic powers locked inside -- waiting to be released -- and focused on the opportunities of your life.

If you have ever known who was calling before you picked up the telephone or known exactly what your father was about to say before he opened his mouth -- or had a feeling that having lunch with your boss was the right step to get what you wanted -- then you've experienced intuition. Maybe you have frequent experiences with deju vu or as one of my friends calls it ..."deja vu all over again!"

There are hundreds of individuals every day who realize that they get their best ideas just before they wake up in the morning or while they are in the shower. Why is that? It is simply becuase those are the times when your mind is blank and your are open for right brain impressions, intuitive and psychic impressions to filter through.

Let me ask you a question. Do you hear the music in the room right now? Listen carefully. You don't hear it? It's there.. it's here....a wide variety of music in your room and right here in my room... but you have to have the proper device to hear it. If you had a radio, it would be a simple matter to tune in and listen to any of the music that is silently filling the room right now. The difference between the person who hears the music and the person who thinks there is no music, is preparing your equipment to tune in the music.

A psychic is simply a person who has become aware of his or her ability to hear the music -- to pick up the messages that others are ignoring. I believe all people can learn to use intuition -- which is basically reading our own minds. But, for some reason, a much smaller number of people are born with the ability to also read other people's minds. Psychics are individuals who are ultra-sensitive to the thoughts and vibrations of others -- individually or collectively.

Some people have a natural access to their psychic powers than others. I have a such a gift. I recognized it early and was encouraged to develop it -- trust it and I have learned to make it useful and helpful part of my being. As a result, I may be introduced as a psychic and may be able to predict events that other people find amazing. And yet I believe that each perons who reads this introduction, takes this course can develop the ability to communicate with his or her psyche. The rewards for doing so will be signficant because in your psyche is tored a wealth of information -- information that you have never learned.

By the time I was eleven...

By the time I was eleven years old, I had become aware of my psychic abilities, however I was closer to twenty before I realized that not everyone had the same sort of sensitivities and impressions that I did.

As a young girl, I would have dreams that later turned out to be accurate. These are called prophetic or precognitive dreams. I would be at the dinner table and receive psychic impressions and intuitive flashes about my siblings, my parents. Either that night or days later, these impressions and feelings materialized. I loved it! For me, it was only nautural to look into a person's eyes and have a flash; a picture, a feeling, an impression that revealed some past or future in that person's life.

Once you know that kind of powerful ability is available to you, it's natural to do everything you can to strengthen it. To free it. To encourage it. To maximize it. You may have a talent for drawing or for singing. If you recognize that talent early and if you are reinforced whenever you use that talent, and if you learn to enjoy using that talent, you will naturally develop that talent. And, you naturally become confident of that talent.

Eventually, I decided to make it my journey, my mission in life to educate people, to bring awareness to that such people have this unique gift and that most of us have more psychic power than they are taking advantage of. I have found it an exciting and rewarding life -- helping people learn to use their psychic powers as adjuncts to their traditional mental abilities, especially as it pertains to business and personal issues.

Everything we've ever done, including past lives and everything we plan to do in the future, is stored in certain parts of our brains, in the subconscious and and the higher conscious. So, what psychics do is open themselves up to receive this information, much like a radio tower is open to receiving frequency waves.

Of course, it's never quite that simple in real life. Most psychics use two or three skills simultaneously. In my case, I am a clairvoyant so I receive detailed, surreal, blurred impressions visually -- in my mind's eye. But I also focus more on the future, so the messages I receive are pre-cognitive -- they are predictions. And thirdly, I make strong use of intuition to interpret all these impressions and pictures and feelings to present a concise description and prediction.

There are various levels of psychic ability, including:

  • Clairvoyance: seeing pictures in the mind's eye, the power or faculty of discerning objects not present to the senses. The ability to perceive matters beyond the range of ordinary perception.
  • Clairaudience: The power or faculty of hearing something not present to the ear but regarded as having objective reality.
  • Mental telepathy: Thought transfer from one mind to another by extrasensory means.
  • Precognition: To know before hand -- relating to an event in the future. To predict or state something not yet experienced.
  • Telekinesis: The ability to move objects via thought. The apparent production of motion in tangible objects (as by a spiritualistic medium) without contact or other physical means.

"What we know determines how we think, act and decide. But, how do we know we know? Intuition!" -- Psychologist, Dr. Philip Goldberg.

Homework: Whether it takes you one day or an entire week, write out 5-7 sceanrios of how intuition and/or psychic experiences played out in your life. Be free in your expression, even if you're not sure it's intuition you're experiencing. This is an excellent time to make you aware of these abilities.
